Researchers at The University of Texas have engineered a novel antibody that specifically recognizes the pertussis toxin (PTx) for the treatment of disease and passive immunity. This is achieved by engineering a "humanized" antibody with an enhanced ability to recognize and bind the PTx, thus enabling the white blood cells to effectively neutralize the threat.
